General Questions

What types of beef do you raise on your farm?

We specialize in raising Wagyu and Belted Galloway cattle. Both breeds are known for their high-quality, flavorful beef.

Where is your farm located?

Our farm is located in the scenic countryside of Laingsburg, Michigan, providing an ideal environment for raising pasture-fed cattle.

What does "pasture-raised" mean?

"Pasture-raised" means that our cattle spend their lives grazing on open pastures, allowing them to eat a natural diet and live in a low-stress environment. This practice results in healthier animals and better-tasting beef.

About Our Beef

What makes Wagyu beef special?

Wagyu beef is renowned for its exceptional marbling, which gives the meat a rich, buttery flavor and a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture. It is also high in healthy monounsaturated fats.

What are the benefits of Belted Galloway beef?

Belted Galloway beef is lean yet flavorful, with excellent marbling and tenderness. This heritage breed is known for its ability to thrive on pasture, producing beef that is both nutritious and delicious.

How do you ensure the quality of your beef?

We ensure the quality of our beef through careful breeding, humane animal husbandry practices, and a natural, pasture-based diet. We do not use antibiotics or growth hormones, and our cattle are raised in a stress-free environment.

Farming Practices

What do your cattle eat?

Our cattle primarily graze on natural pasture grasses. During the winter months, when fresh pasture is not available, we supplement their diet with hay. We also grain finish if customers prefer that.

How do you manage your pastures?

We use rotational grazing to manage our pastures, which involves moving cattle to different sections of pasture to allow grass to regenerate. This practice promotes soil health and sustainable land use.

Are your farming practices environmentally friendly?

Yes, we are committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices. Our pasture-raised system reduces the need for synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, and our rotational grazing helps maintain healthy soil and biodiversity.

Animal Welfare

How do you ensure the welfare of your animals?

Animal welfare is a top priority on our farm. Our cattle are raised in a low-stress environment with plenty of space to roam and graze. We follow humane handling practices and ensure that our animals have access to clean water, shelter, and veterinary care.

Do you use antibiotics or hormones?

No, we do not use antibiotics or growth hormones in our cattle. We believe in raising our animals naturally to produce the healthiest and best-tasting beef possible.
