Starting a farm is no small feat, but for our family, it was a dream nurtured over generations. We, Morgan and Riley Arnold, married in 2016 with a shared vision of creating a farm where we could raise our children and carry forward a family legacy. This is the story of how Whispering Pines Ranch came to be.
Farming runs deep in our family roots. Morgan’s grandparents, David and Pat White, originally owned and operated a farm on part of the property we now house our cattle. They raised cows and goats, instilling in us a love for animals and a deep respect for the land. The name they chose for their farm, Whispering Pines, symbolized the tranquil beauty of the landscape and the gentle whisper of the wind through the pine trees. It was a name that resonated with us and one we proudly continue as Whispering Pines Ranch.
When we married in 2016, we knew we wanted to follow in the footsteps of Morgan’s grandparents. We envisioned a farm where we could not only raise livestock but also raise our children, Bianca and Emiliana, in an environment rich with life lessons and family values. The idea of our daughters growing up with the same experiences and traditions was a driving force behind our decision.
Starting Whispering Pines Ranch in Laingsburg, Michigan, has been a labor of love. We chose this location not just for its familial ties but for its fertile land and beautiful surroundings. The area’s rich agricultural history and supportive community have been instrumental in helping us get started.
We began by restoring the land and facilities that Morgan’s grandparents once used. Their old barns and pastures, though aged, held memories and potential. With hard work and dedication, we breathed new life into these structures, making them suitable for our needs while preserving their historical charm.
At Whispering Pines Ranch, our days are filled with the joys and challenges of farm life. We raise beef cattle with a focus on sustainable and humane farming practices. Our girls, Bianca and Emiliana, are growing up immersed in this lifestyle, learning the value of hard work, responsibility, and a deep connection to nature.
They help with feeding the animals, tending to the garden, and understanding the cycles of life on a farm. It’s a beautiful way to teach them about life’s realities while fostering a sense of responsibility and compassion.
Continuing the Whispering Pines legacy is about more than just farming; it’s about honoring the past and building a future. We strive to maintain the same values that David and Pat White held dear: respect for the land, care for the animals, and a commitment to community. Our farm is a place where the past and present come together, creating a rich tapestry of tradition and innovation.
As we look to the future, we see Whispering Pines Ranch growing and evolving. We hope to expand our herd, explore new farming techniques, and perhaps open our doors to visitors who wish to experience farm life firsthand. But no matter how much we grow, our core values will remain unchanged.
Whispering Pines Ranch is not just a business; it’s our home and our heritage. It’s a place where we nurture our family, our animals, and our dreams. We are grateful for the opportunity to carry forward the legacy of Morgan’s grandparents and create a lasting impact for generations to come.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. We invite you to follow our adventures and share in the joys of farm life here at Whispering Pines Ranch.
With warm regards,
Morgan, Riley, Bianca, and Emiliana Arnold
